Apple didn't invent the GUI. Neither changed anything on the desktop users. Windows 95 on top of DOS curb-stomped Apple except on written/recorded/created media production, which did great on the G4 days for instance, and for a while with the G5. Then, with the Core Duo, Apple lost the battle against Intel. Also, lots of libre competition such as Krita and Blender are doing great remarks.
Macs are not that "special" any more compared to your i7 PC with a good video card. Even Intel integrated cards have an awesome price for what they do.<p>Android dominates the smartphone <i>world</i>. Windows PC's are nearly everywhere, but today most people can work remotely over an RDP session over the browser. And the rest of networked infra runs under Linux 90% of the time. Yes, even for online gaming servers to be played as clients under Windows.
