The 15-minute city can work in the US

Are there any “circular” cities in the US?
The grid based system of pretty much every US city is not conducive to walkability. It actively hinders it with incessant stop signals and cross walks.
The meandering roads of many small and mid sized European cities means there are no lights needed - cars travel through the city slowly enough that they rely on their senses.

Isn’t a 15 minute city basically the urban village built around metro stations. Many cities were championed them, but in the end they don’t work for American families so people age out.
Most kid activities like sports and jump zones and the like take way more space so can’t fit in the village. Unless you connect them with dense and frequent rail, everyone needs a car, and once you have a car maybe you’ll drive the next town or two over because produce is cheaper at their stores and we are back to everyone driving.
