Why the Future of Cloud Deployments Is Unikernels (2023)

How far into the future? I feel like I’ve been hearing about unikernels for over a decade now but I’ve yet to see them adopted in any real way by any large companies which in theory would benefit the most by the cost savings and improved security these should provide.

I always liked the sound of unikernels, but my fear is that they&#x27;d throw the baby out with the bathwater and give up 50 years of hard won OS engineering know-how.<p>If you know for a fact that the OS is bad news for your application, you must surely also be skilled enough to patch it?
