Pathetically abysmal. Somehow someone convinced themselves that this was the way forward. I feel that it’s self-defeating though; folks worth the time are gonna hit this interview and end the call unless they’re desperate. In the end the recruiters end up with worse candidates because the good ones left the process. I know that if I join an interview and it’s a robot voice, I’m out.
Fuck everything about the folks calling themselves recruiters that use this. This is nothing more than a shitty filter with a coat of cheap paint. I guess not much different to the average LinkedIn spam recruiter though.
Someday we’ll struggle to identify if the other participant is human or not. Even if there’s video.
Money and the endeavor for ever-cheaper solutions destroys so many good things. If you’re reading this and feel that using AI in this way is a good idea, perhaps take some time to wonder how you got into this mess and why you’re willing to do it. You’re hiring humans. If you still don’t care, I hope that the next time you look for a job is met with an AI voice. You will certainly enjoy the experience I assume.
