The article apparently mixes up psychological concepts such as giftedness and talent, and also seems to treat research results and (non-scientific) opinions equally. The source of exceptional ability is indeed one of the most contentious debates in psychology, education, biology, and other related disciplines. E.g. Gagné [1] uses the term "giftedness" to describe individuals who are endowed with natural potential to achieve that is distinctly above average for their age group in one or more aptitude domains. In this conception, aptitudes are natural abilities that have a genetic origin, and are no myth at all.<p>[1] Gagné, F. (2010). Motivation within the DMGT 2.0 framework.
