I have been looking at various smart notebooks off and on for over a year.
I am stuck in 'analysis paralysis', as they call it. It will be a bigger purchase for me at this point in my life so I am worried about grabbing the wrong one for me.
I have mostly been looking back and forth at the Remarkable 2 and Rocketbook Pro or Multi Subject Notebook. But then there is also Moleskine and now the Amazon Kindle Scribe.
Currently, with regular pen and paper, I like to keep one notebook (composition notebook usually) that is just a running todo and information notebook.
I just add things in and mark things out as I go. I will have pages where I may jot down some important information that pertains to something in the running todo list as well. It isn't the most organized but typically I can find what I need relatively quickly.
I will also go through now and then and rewrite the running todo list and remove the prior unneeded pages to condense and make it more manageable. I know this probably sounds like a nightmare to many but with my severe ADHD it is sort of the best I've found for myself.
I also would love to start journaling and love the idea of being able to just wipe away what I write after I write it and just have it popped up into the cloud where I can store it securely.
I would also love to be able to keep up more with other notebooks that would contain information on various topics I want to learn about or am learning about currently.
I don't really need notebooks professionally, at least not now. I work outside.
Oh also, things like a notebook to track my house plants and vegetable garden and that sort of thing.
I feel like these notebooks do all differ a bit in certain areas so one of these probably makes more sense for me.
I would like to be able to then go back through my various notebooks on my smart notebook if I wanted...
So I don't think the Moleskine or Rocketbook would be for me for that reason because they use an actual 'paper' that you can wipe away.
BUT I love the idea of being able to feel like I am writing on paper. It sounds like Remarkable 2 provides that to some extent. But then the Remarkable 2 is lacking quite a lot, it seems.
No OCR Search.
It's cloud-syncing capabilities are pretty limited.
People seem to think it's ability to convert handwriting to text is pretty unimpressive and leaves a lot to be desired.
No backlight.
No screen temperature adjustment.
I'm ready to make a purchase as I have set aside funds but I just am struggling to really dial in which one makes the most sense.
Just curious of anyone with experience with these, especially if you have tried more than one and can compare/contrast??
I really, REALLY appreciate any thoughts or guidance!
Thank you!
I actually just wrote a few posts about this that you might find interesting.
[Handwritten Notes on the Amazon Fire Max 11](https://notes.joeldare.com/notes-on-the-amazon-fire-max-11)
[Handwritten Text Recognition](https://notes.joeldare.com/handwritten-text-recognition)
[Handwritten Text Recognition Results](https://notes.joeldare.com/handwritten-text-recognition-resu...)
I haven't written about the Rocketbook Reusable Notebooks yet but I've also tried and like those. The one I have now is a little bit too small, however. I want to get the Rocketbook Executive size and give it a try. It's a pretty inexpensive option to get started.
