Cyclists know that the right number of bikes is N+1, where N is the number of currently owned bikes.<p>I love the variety of bikes displayed here, from racy carbon fiber (Pinarello, Trek OCLV, Kestral), steel (Waterford, De Barnardi, Soma, Ritchey), trendy-at-the-time titanium (Litespeed, Merlin), and experimental (Calfee, Trek Y-Frame, Delta 7).

In Conan&#x27;s tribute, he told a really wholesome story about a bike Robin gifted him during a hard time. De rigueur for SF.<p>I was slightly sad there wasn&#x27;t a Dahon among the list.<p>When I was a kid, I rode around the foothills of Almaden Valley and the Santa Cruz mountains. Flying Bernal Road or Harwood Road after slogging up steep roads was a reward of its own. Probably why I went to UC Davis.* ;]<p>* Its logo is a bicycle.

Isn&#x27;t &quot;quiver&quot; the proper collective noun for bikes? (but does it include, as according to TFA, unicycles?)

Love seeing the range here, from the worst bike I can think of actually riding (IRO hi-ten with heavy ass Velocity deep v’s) to probably my most aspirational frame (Merlin titanium).<p>Thinking back on the worst bike I ever owned right now, a jacked up, semi-frontalled cro-mo Bianchi Pista that I bought off a handsome firefighter in the Bronx. This shit had cruiser bars flipped like a reverse bullhorn when I picked it up, crazy. When I locked the cranks on it I could feel the whole frame flex. I seriously was never worried that anything would ever happen to it… as close to a no-lock bike I ever had.

Very interesting. Did Robin Williams ever talk about cycling or share his views?
