I didn't bother reading this, skimmed through and saw essentially the same tired arguments being made.<p>The internet is what you make of it. If you spend all your times in niche communities discussing your hobbies, learning more about them, watching videos related to them, etc. You're probably gonna have a great experience.<p>Conversely if you're doomscrolling social media, watching mindless youtube videos endlessly, porn, or shitposting on twitter. You're probably gonna rewire your reward pathways to desire that more. And a lot of that stuff may not necessarily be designed to make you unhappy but probably does (comparison to wealthy lifestyles, bleak outlook on the future, unrealistic sexual relationships, continually negative conversations).<p>Change your own habits before blaming the world.
