I'd learn to code today, if I were to start over

Speaking from personal experience, I found that my ability to adapt and pick up new technologies quickly has been just as important as my technical knowledge. When I started my career, I focused mostly on mastering specific languages and frameworks. Although that was important, I soon realized that the tech industry moves at lightning speed and what's hot today might be outdated tomorrow. So, if you want to keep up with this market, the best thing is to stay up-to-date with the latest industry news and adapt your skills accordingly.

Hello,<p>I&#x27;ve been a software engineer for sometime now, and had so many people I know ask me how to get into tech, and I recommended some to simply learn HTML, CSS, JavaScript and then React, Next.js or Node, Express etc. to land their first frontend or backend role and figure things out from there, but in 2024, I think that&#x27;s not enough, a lot of companies are actively choosing not to hire new grads or new programmers, and I feel people learning to code should learn to &#x27;learn&#x27; instead of just learn to code. Hope this guide helps someone.

What do you think about PLC programming? If someone had time to actually go to school, would that be a bit less saturated.<p>I always see PLC jobs and think wow, those guys make 3x what I did at my peak and can&#x27;t be replaced by AI as easily, and are sometimes still needed in small towns where nobody needs a regular embedded developer....<p>Meanwhile, whenever I do a personal FOSS project or a volunteer thing, I find myself using concepts from PLC and SCADA.
