Ask HN: How Can I Learn Sales as a First-Time Founder?

As a first-time founder with a background in product management, I&#x27;m building a product in web3 with a focus on real-world assets (RWA). We&#x27;re a b2b business and I&#x27;m quickly realizing that successful startups often thrive with a sales-led approach.<p>However, I&#x27;m new to sales beyond soft pitches. Can anyone point me to resources like books, videos, or tutorials on getting started? I&#x27;m also keen to learn about essential metrics to track. Any suggestions?

Sales can mean a lot of different things. You need to identify your channel and type of sales before you can learn how to sell.<p>The only constant is knowing how to build rapport with your customer and make them feel like you understand their problem before pitching your solution. There are a lot of optimizations on top of that, processes for managing&#x2F;tracking customers, etc, but if you can&#x27;t connect with your customers and help them see why your product will save them time&#x2F;money&#x2F;etc you&#x27;re dead in the water.
