As a people manager, I've found myself using a plethora of "tools" to help me keep notes and track informal progress towards goals for the reports I work with.
My needs evolved to a point where I'm using VSCode for its file structure and ability to quickly find things via global search.
I'm in the process of building something custom for myself and wondering if there are other people managers out there using hacky solutions to solve for use cases outside of more formal tools like Lattice.
Would love to hear any pain points or hacky solves. Also if you're interested in playing around with the solution I'm working on, lmk!
Did something with freeplane once. It's a mind mapping software based on freemind and it's oss. There, you can interact with the nodes by api and groovy language (I think there's also an python, interpreter possible, long time no use. May be very wrong here)
By that you can do whatever you think of with the nodes and leaves.
There are plug-ins people use to access their email and such..
