Yeah. I remember as a kid growing up in a suburban area like that, I was constantly lonely and bored. Couldn't venture far from home because I wasn't allowed to cross major roadways. The neighborhood of course is surrounded by major roadways, some of which were uncrossable even to adults, since they had no crosswalks for blocks and blocks.<p>No connection to adults in the neighborhood. Other kids were younger, older, or far away. I did eventually make a couple friends, and then I moved away for college.<p>I learned to drive later than everyone else, after I was out of high school, so of course once my classmates got cars I was 2nd-tier for hanging out. Plus it sucks having to get in a car just to see a friend.
