I think the numbers are probably right on this, but at least one consumer reports article seems to indicate that electric cars are less reliable than typical ICE cars [1]. I wonder if this will lead to an increased number of cars being sold due to them having to be replaced more frequently, meaning more resources are being used, meaning an increased environmental impact.<p>I'm not sure how you'd measure that, but a bit part of the reason that I haven't purchased an electric car, even though I think they're cool, is because my parents have had a lot of trouble with their Chevy Volt.<p>[1] <a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/news/electric-vehicles-consumer-reports-reliability-report/" rel="nofollow">https://www.cbsnews.com/news/electric-vehicles-consumer-repo...</a><p>ETA:<p>Before someone tells me that Tesla has the highest reliability, I know (though I would be curious to see those numbers post-Cybertruck).
