I've recently uncovered a fairly large US hospital tech stack that consists of Salesforce (patient data entry) fed into HMS (managed services) and then fed into WellSky, which then ports to Sequel (Fortra?) for things like bed tracking, etc. It's wild, and many of the nurses/admissions are using additional apps (Excel) to fill in the gaps for information they need (nurses have worked together to make their own excel solutions). As for internal communication, they use Microsoft, Teams, etc. I know I can solve for at least 90% in a unified solution, maybe 100%. But I've never sold software to a hospital before. What do I not know? Is it possible they just over time have duct taped together different solutions?
