They have employees on the floor?? I've never seen one. If the story had been about new, improved ceiling cameras, I'd have believed it. But businesspeople's paranoia knows no bounds. This must trace back to one district manager being carpeted for a microscopic increase in shrinkage.

Three questions immediately come to mind:
1. Is this more cost-effective than just writing-off the lost inventory? At least in TJ Maxx's case, is it really that high?
2. What good is the footage? I doubt police are going to investigate petty theft.
3. Doesn't this make the staff a target of violence?

If i put on the shoes of shop lifter for just a moment
I am looking for something to steal to support my drug addiction.
I creep along the aisles to find something worth stealing.
I am on constant watch for those beady eyed shop assistants who might catch me.
No one is sight, so I slip the contraband under my baggy overcoat and make my way to the entrance door to make my escape.
No shop assistant saw me and obviously it was not recorded on any of their body worn cameras.
This is just another excuse to introduce more intrusion into the average persons life while shopping and those poor staff having the management team being able to watch and listen to them while they go about their job.
