Yes there's a lot of other companies making these bricks but the quality, in my experience, is nowhere near the same. The after purchase customer support is also lacking.<p>The quality of the Lego brick and the quality control used to make it is second to none. I have 50-year-old Lego bricks that still hold together really well they have been played with by multiple generations of kids and hold up. I have other brands such as mega that are 20 years old and they do not stick together as well as the Lego blocks. The colors have not retained the same either.<p>The other thing to be said is the after purchase support. For Lego it is one of the best companies I have ever dealt with. Sometimes we underestimate the support a company provides. When you don't need it you never think about it but when you do and it's lacking that can ruin your entire experience with the company. Lego their support has never been lacking once. On the extremely rare case that a brick is missing simply fill out a form and it's on its way to you. Have a package that never arrived at your house or maybe it was stolen Lego goes above and beyond to replace it. Additionally if it contained one time gift items or other unique gifts they will do whatever they can to replace that as well.<p>Lego absolutely has a premium cost over the other companies that produce their knockoff product. I do like many of the sets the other companies produce they are nowhere in the same league of product. Even with their lesser cost, I'm still more satisfied purchasing actual Lego branded product.
