OpenTyrian – Top-Down-Shooter Tyrian Ported for the Web

This game was (and still is) flippin&#x27; fantastic! The single player mode was great, the two players mode was amazing, the music was banging.<p>If you never played it, I highly recommend you give it a try!

Tyrian&#x27;s what gave me inspiration to create a space shooter on mobile! Some of the special weapons in my game are direct inspiration like the Plasma Storm and Soul of Zinglon. Granted my space shooter game isn&#x27;t a scrolling space shooter though, someday I will try my shot at making one.<p>Also, it looks like they&#x27;ve ported other older games to web: <a href="https:&#x2F;&#x2F;midzer.de&#x2F;games" rel="nofollow">https:&#x2F;&#x2F;midzer.de&#x2F;games</a> like Jazz Jackrabbit, Duke Nukem, Quake. Very nice!

This reminds me of a top-down vertical scroller I played the hell out of during that era, &quot;Raptor: Call of the Shadows&quot; ...<p>so much so I thought it must have been a re-skin from the same studio, or somehow related, but... it seems not? Amazingly similar motion and gameplay.
