The Chinese Internet has already migrated more or less into the social media walled gardens, this will have huge impact on the type of AI that will be produced in China. It is also likely the direction of travel in the US Internet, as publishers wall off their data and license it (i.e Reddit, SO and presumably at some point HN) or use it to train their own AI. Fascinating future ahead
