This reminded me of a similar plot line in a sci-fi style tv episode, and sent me on a massive 'tip of my tongue' hunt, it turned out to be 'The Dead Zone' episode 11 'Shaman', but is only suggested as being 'hundreds' of years in the past.<p>From what I can see via my searches though, this isn't a particularly new theory, and it has been suggested to have happened ~12k5 to 13k before present for a couple of decades at least.
