Middle-class people on the PWCs and skiboats will do exactly the same thing to that pod of dolphins. The desire for speed and noise is not limited to those with excess income.<p>On the other hand, those with excess economic security often have the time and means to relax and go out on a large sailboat at whatever speed nature gives them. In which case the dolphins would likely have abandoned the kayaker and gone to play in the bow wave of the sailboat, whose wealthy children would be sitting on the rail with their feet dangling over the edge watching the dolphins from nearly touching distance, looking each other in the eye.
