The headline is misleading, the giftcard is for employees &#x2F; partners for working overtime, not for customers.

Saw that somewhere in Social Media, though that it was a meme.<p>Apparently now reality itself is a meme. This is what happens when you combine a huckster with ridiculous &quot;no-sue&quot; clauses... you get a $10 gift card.

Learning to filter out outrage bait takes work, but I find it very worthwhile.

Well to be fair, they broke so many computers that they&#x27;d have to bankrupt the company by paying out more than $10&#x2F;ea — that would create some real problems for their shareholders.

A $10 gift card after messing up millions of devices and stranding tens, maybe hundreds of thousands of people...this seems completely tone deaf. Giving people a $10 gift card feels worse than just apologizing.<p>It&#x27;s like crashing someone&#x27;s car and then giving them a bag of Skittles for the trouble. Sure you can&#x27;t uncrash the car, but the bag of Skittles trivializes the whole thing and makes a genuine apology feel cheap.
