Interestingly, both Vietnam and the Philippines actually have substantially higher GDPs per Capita than India does on a country wide basis. But the GDP per capita of, say, Bangalore is much higher than the Indian average, at around $25,000, whereas the GDP per Capita around e.g. Manila seems closer to only $9,000 or $10,000, and HCM City is around $7,000. This lends credence to the idea that Indian devs might be getting further outsourced to these other areas.
