This is a very old technique (especially for dating apps) and is hardly novel. It&#x27;s pretty much the SQL injection of dating apps.<p>The only novel thing here is that these specific apps are vulnerable.

From previous responses to this issue, Grindr&#x27;s behavior depends on the country. They implement that coordinate rounding in countries where it isn&#x27;t legally safe to be gay (and otherwise knowing a guy is 10m away is a feature, not a design flaw on grindr)
