They want it to be close to you. They don't want it to feel distant, or professional or like it - for all its omniscience - can only handle big things. They want it to be your counselor, your child's teacher, your wife's advisor. They want it to be your friend. They want it to feel like Scarlett Johansson whispering softly in your ear. They want it - like it now does - to complain if you swear at it or ask it to be quiet. They want you to want it, and they want it enough to thread the thin line between having you want it and having you realize it will displace you. And, by the time you do, and, it does, it will already be their tool. Not ours.-
