I been thinking the next logical step for open source Software projects should be what I shall refer to as "Open Development", i.e. The development of an Open Source Software project could be live streamed to the platform of your choice. In these way, people would benefit from seeing how a feature they love is being implemented, battle of egos would be exhibited if it exists, Machine Learning algorithms will be trained on those videos to find patterns on human behavior, the more data available out there, the better. Investors will see their money in action (Five minutes in any given day of a month seeing a video) whenever they feel like doing so.<p>Just my opinion.<p>The only big downside of all this will be privacy.<p>Happy weekend!!!
That’s a tall ask considering OSS is already a major effort, most devs (who are already donating their time) are not going to be interested in this.<p>I know Serenity OS and others are exceptions, but it’s not and probably should not be the norm. There are much more important things to focus and fix in the fucked up world of OSS and corporate abuse, my pessimistic 2c.
