I'm wondering why LLMs haven't gone the we search way of being ad supported and widely available, instead of a freemium model. This seems scalable and extensible to many different sub use cases of LLMs. Is it just really hard to embed ads in LLM responses? I can see perplexity doing this 'easily', but also everyone else.
Does a pro licence for eg. ChatGPT 4 allow "sub" selling? If so, you could trivially integrate with Google Ads or something.<p>Though, I hate you for even bringing the idea up (j/k, as long as there is a paid, no-ad option, I am happy with "free" ad-supported products too).
