Central banks can only inject so much money into the money supply. After that tool, the next most powerful tool for keeping ththe head of an ailing economy above water is the price of energy.<p>The added (sociopolitical) benefit is that voters like cheaper energy. They don't like inflation (driven by Central banks).<p>The dirty little downside is these same governments are often subsidizing green energy as well. Imagine that. They want to increase the adoption of green energy by... making them less cost justifiable.<p>It's madness.
