Introducing Appointment By Thunderbird

So, am i correct in understanding that it sort of re-publishes (or subscribes) to one's own ical/ics calendars - basically providing a sort of middleperson/hosting for such resources to allow for coordination among people to plan a meeting? Not that there's anything wrong with that; can actually be handy! (I'm just trying to understand it more.) I'll add that i kinda wish Thunderbird would offer a paid email hosting service already - like Zoho, Tuta, Protonmail, Mailbox, Posteo, etc. Then again, there is something to be said for a sort of separation of concerns (desktop client separate from the actual service...to allow maximum flexibility and all). I wish Thunderbird well with this neew offering!
