im trying to decipher these companies currently with open reqs.
I interviewed for a job recently the hiring mgr really liked me, passed to a panel that also really liked me. So last step is a meeting with a senior official in the company.
im working through a 3rd party recruiting company who is working directly with this company.
the 3rd party told me wed the panel really liked me. then told me they had "another candidate" that they were gonna interview yesterday and were hoping to interview me today. An interview is not setup yet for me for today.
Cut to the chase:
The thing is with this whole process is the hiring mgr posted this job like 2 months ago on linkedin to his network and they still havent hired someone.
Is this company just fishing for information (e.g. what are the best tools/technologies/procs. in my field) and this is a fake job?
How do you interpret this?
Thank you HN
I wonder why it's taking so long to fill the position. Is it for a role that might be difficult to fill, like a specialized skillet or high amount of experience/education? Is it in a regulated industry where the hiring process takes many months? Are they low-balling salaries?
Usually I encounter recruiters when the need is urgent, so the delay seems unusual to me.
If the company doesn't have a dedicated recruiter and it's just the engineers / managers recruiting, it'll often take a long time because they have other priorities and may generally be waiting for the right person.
