Blood test could diagnose ALS with up to 97 per cent accuracy

What does this 97 percent mean? That in 97 percent of cases it correctly identifies ALS? That in 97 percent of cases it correctly identifies absence of ALS?<p>The latter would be problematic, since ALS is fairly rare.
