I maintain an open source care plan, which helps people like us care for people like our parents. I'm seeing a large uptick in the scammers attacking the elderly people.<p>Some of the attacks are scammers claiming to be from charitable organizations, or security monitoring companies, or healthcare plans. The scammer convinces the elderly person to hand over their credentials, or to set up ongoing money transfers. All of this has been happening for years-- but it turns out what's different now is AI is making the phone calls, and sending the emails.<p>Please protect your parents.
