Anything that calls itself a Science, probably isn't

This observation is really just giving primacy to older and broader fields over younger and narrower ones.<p>Certainly &quot;materials science&quot;, &quot;surface science&quot;, &quot;agricultural science&quot;, &quot;atmospheric science&quot;, and &quot;soil science&quot; are sciences.<p>Or, of course, they can be categorized as all part of physics.

So, &quot;cognitive science&quot; ==&gt; &quot;cognition&quot; ==&gt; &quot;thinking&quot;.<p>I would absolutely love to be able to say I was in the Department of Thinking.

I miss mention of economics as a non-science.
