I wonder whether The Qt Company has any plan to provide an alternative to C++ (Python doesn't count). Google, Microsoft and Apple have clearly indicated that they plan to move to Rust or other memory-safe languages for their future projects. Qt is used in industries where safety is critical (e.g. automotive) but they don't seem to be interested in this area.
Although, if I recall correctly in one of their keynotes, their CTO mentioned something that like Carbon would be more interesting for them than Rust as it would allow a gradual port of C++ code.
