Granted, I am a conservative, but it strikes me that the social ills on the liberal/progressive side of the ledger are more tangible, more likely to be disruptive and damaging on a day-to-day basis than those of the right.
Is there a family member who refuses to show up to Thanksgiving dinner because of political differences? That person is more likely to be a partisan of the left.
Do you know someone who is supportive of using physical violence to achieve political ends? That person is also more likely to be a partisan of the left.
On the other hand, partisans of the right are more likely to be guilty of a rather amorphous "distrust" of the left. They are also more likely to support antidemocratic candidates, we are told. Presumably they have people like Donald Trump in mind. This is a fair critique, but there are safeguards in place in the form of Congress and the courts.
