This is a website that converts Latin/Sanskrit to modern Romance/Indian languages. The catch is, rather than a translation, it is purely based on deterministic phonological algorithms. Since linguists have determined fairly regular rules for these transformations, I thought why not code these rules into a computer?<p>While the result isn't perfect, it often works pretty well, and the cases where it fails sometimes give some insight into why a language evolved the way that it did.
