A while ago I worked for a small company (no name boutique consultancy with a few high-profile clients) that was acquired by a large company (one of the big internationally known tech consulting firms).
I stayed less than a year post-acquisition, and during that time my day-to-day job did not meaningfully change. I'm wondering whether it would be better to combine these entries on my resume so that it reads like a longer stint at a more recognized company, or if I should keep them separate and try to highlight my experience from when it was still a smaller specialized consultancy (which tends to have a better reputation than big consultancies).
I put separate entries on my CV. It was easy to justify given how much the role and day to day changed.
The downside is it looks like I job hopped a bunch. 4 jobs in less than a year because I left Big Tech to run a startup, we got acquired soon after, I didn’t stay at the new company, so I went back to teaching.
