Worth noting that Computer Modern, the typeface that is characteristic of TeX, was never designed to be used for reading on a computer screen. It couldn't have been, because it was designed in 1986. It's intended to be used on the printed page. And regardless of what people think of its legibility in print, I don't think it's a hot take to say that it's kind of hard to read on a screen. Too thin and light for my liking.
