I have a home server with many services that I share with friends, among those services I have a Prometheus instance that tracks response times to all of the services.
Today, after receiving complaints that the services were slow I found out that request latency went from 100 Ms at most to 1 or even 2 seconds per request, starting at 9 AM 01/12, and even more mysteriously, request latencies instantly dropped at 00:00 the same day.
All of the services are exposed behind cloudflare, so that's my first guess but I have no knowledge of them throttling traffic for a day ?
My home internet was fine, I measured it throughout the day, that is why I am ruling out my ISP.
You could dig into with traceroute.
Usually "Cyberdays" put some strain on infrastructure globally - heightened traffic levels.
You can also check your isp here (among others):
https://radar.cloudflare.com/
