Diff is 40 years old: can it be improved?

I like some of these, but things like find&#x2F;replace are context sensitive.<p>If foo.bar and baz.bar got changed to foo.steamedhams and baz.steamedhams, one of those could be a mistake caused by not setting up your replacement regex right.

I don&#x27;t know if we can remove stuff from it. I guess it remains a few things here and there to remove.
