It feels like we're living in a time of such high variance. Here in Puerto Rico we have 1.5 million clients without electricity going into the new year. With various parts of the island having irregular or spotty access to power all across the year. The richest are able to afford temporary power alternatives, but given Puerto Rico's low GDP most people are left powerless in the most literal sense.
Meanwhile much of the tech news I see is related to AI development and how various companies are rapidly moving through all sorts of barriers to create new power plants.
Meanwhile I keep thinking about how Puerto Rico has more US citizens than 10-ish states but isn't granted any voting representation in the federal government. Do you think such a system is fair and just? One where millions of people are subject to federal law without any voting representation in the house or congress? Puerto Rico gets a token non voting representative, which makes them completely powerless and easily ignored.
