This same type of logic can be applied with other devices and media.<p>Basically a workaround ordeal to overcome a lngering defect in current Windows where the supposedly-reliable regular installation process still fails miserably quite often.<p>Compared to Linux it's a little bit embarassing when Linux has gotten more & more reliable with GUI alone hardly ever failing any more, across various devices and media, which is exactly what you need with such a wide spectrum of configurations out there.<p>That's why they call them PC's and not Mac's.<p>I've mentioned this before but the need for the command line in Windows is growing exponentially while in Linux it continues to decline slowly, but at least that's a noticeable improvement for Linux.<p>The sad part is that not that many decades ago you could go for years at a time in Windows and accomplish all kinds of advanced things without needing the command line at all.<p>That was kind of the idea of Windows to begin with, so nobody would need a DOS prompt any more.
