As far as I can tell, it seems that Gmail has recently made some bad changes to its spam filters, as I've had a lot of legit emails end up in the spam folder. Specifically, a lot of emails going through Apple private relay have been flagged as spam, as well as some legit and important emails from companies like AWS and my telcom operator. Is anyone else experiencing this? I have a Google Workspace subscription with a custom domain.
I just checked.
There's nothing important. There are a few legal commercial emails (which I marked as not-spam and then unsubscribed). Other than that, it's all junk.
It's clear that GMail is dropping vast amounts of obvious spam on the floor without even putting it in the spam folder. My last-30-days spam used to be in the thousands. Now it was less than two dozen.
I find the Inbox vs Spam folder distinction to be almost unusable nowadays, so yes I check the spam folder from time to time and regularly rescue non-spam.
