Ask HN: How are you claiming back the productivity gain from AI?

2 点作者 tathagatadg4 个月前
Say if your AI tool of choice is saving x hours of your 8 hour work day, i.e. you are doing your work in 8-x hours per day (guessing at the same salary) - how are you claiming those x hours back? I haven't seen that many conversations on how this is ultimately benefiting the employee who is expected to fill that void by pulling in more from the queue. The general direction of conversation is how soon will the inevitable x==8 materialize eliminating the employee's employment.
In the interim, would you rather:
1. Pull in more work from the queue. 2. Invest in picking up a new skill. 3. Leave work early to spend more time with loved ones.
P.S.
Just kidding with the 8 hours, 10-12 are probably makes it real - despite the progress, we are probably the most overworked humans in history trying to keep up with speed of light.

I am substantially underreporting the productivity gains in my real life jobs (overemployed). I don't share any productivity tricks I learn. I pretend to be helpless and dumb.
