A better (fairer?) answer would probably be a figure in-between the 2 amounts quoted. So maybe a much lesser $$ amount , charge for installations where software was installed but not used. The $154K amount is the (discounted) loss for all the PCs where software was actually used. ( In my mind raises very interesting questions where other similar electronic goods, books , moves are copied but never looked at )

Imagine trying this argument against the RIAA or MPAA:<p><pre><code> &gt;&gt; Your honor, my client doesn&#x27;t dispute downloading all those movies... but surely... you must take into consideration the fact that they haven&#x27;t seen the overwhelming majority of them yet </code></pre> Which begs the question, is a movie still a movie if there is no one to watch it? Or is it merely an unrealized collection of random seeming bits?
