Hi HN,
I'm looking for excellent engineers to join the team at Mixpanel. We've built the most advanced analytics platform available for mobile & the web - tools that allow you to dive deep into product usage patterns, understand conversion rates, and understand user retention. Nobody else comes close to our current offering.
Here are the facts:

* Revenue is in the millions
* We're cash-flow positive
* We've raised $12M from top-tier investors: YC, Max Levchin (PayPal), Sequoia, and Andreessen Horowitz
* Example customers: BitTorrent, Path, Capcom, OkCupid, Jawbone
* We're not interested in getting acquired. It's go big or go home.

We've built a lot of stuff with not a lot of people, but we want to move even faster..
On the engineering & product side of things:

* We mostly write Javascript, Python, and C
* We wrote our own datastore (thus the C) & use it to power all of our analytics infrastructure
* We ship code many times a day
* We care very deeply about design & user experience

We define frontend engineering differently than most companies - for us, it means everything from the API servers on down through JS and CSS. It's closer to full-stack web development than anything else.
So, you'll get to touch a bit of everything - but the biggest chunk is Javascript. We write an enormous amount of JS (it's currently 55.2% of the codebase) and it ain't your momma's JS. We've built a lot of fairly serious JS infrastructure and it's been critical to our success.
For those who like bulleted lists, Frontend Engineers at Mixpanel work on:

* Revamping JS application architecture
* Helping us decide on tools
* Building out new infrastructure
* API design & implementation
* Building client libraries for many platforms
* Building data visualization & reporting tools

Culturally, we have a minor case of NIH - we've built our own datastore, monitoring, documentation management, frontend framework, memcache client, and more. If something doesn't fit our needs, we're happy to build it ourselves, and we're looking for others who feel the same way.
On that note, if you:

* Care deeply about code quality
* Aren't afraid to build their own tools
* Hack on stuff for fun. We love side projects.
* Are ready to really throw yourself into something

and the above sounds interesting, please get in touch. I'd love to talk to you.
Tim Trefren (tim@mixpanel.com)
For more info, check out http://mixpanel.com/jobs
