Whatever your political beliefs can you at least agree that suddenly removing billions from the economy, by not paying or firing people, is reckless?
These are your fellow US citizens, not faceless robots or zombies in a computer game. They have lives, family, hopes, and a third of the country wants to put them on the streets? Why do you dehumanize with such fervor?

Shouldn't this send US credit rating to junk status or something? This is money that is contractually owed, right?

> Treasury officials have long maintained that its role is to serve as the federal government’s checkbook — and that the decision about whether to approve or deny payment belongs to individual agencies based on funds appropriated by Congress.
> “The @DOGE team discovered, among other things, that payment approval officers at Treasury were instructed always to approve payments, even to known fraudulent or terrorist groups. They literally never denied a payment in their entire career. Not even once,” Musk wrote on X.
Like, this is a no shit Sherlock thing right? If congress passes funding for something, why would we ever want the Treasury to refuse to process it?
Would Musk be okay if his accountants at X refused to pay for things he told them to because they don't like it?

Some of these reports are really hard to believe or understand. Which contracts? All? That would be insane and seems unlikely.
