Ask HN: RevenueCat, Payment A/B testing violates Apple terms 6.1 ?

2 点作者 punnerud3 个月前
Apple clearly states that any changes to the app have to be submitted for a new review [1] There exist multiple tools for paywall A/B-testing for iOS apps, where one of the biggest ones is RevenueCat.
Can developers use this without any risk of having their developer account blocked? As I read it this is a clear violation of the agreement.
I see that even OpenAI use them for their payment process. I just verified that RevenueCat is actually used in the ChatGPT iOS app.
[1]: https://developer.apple.com/support/terms/apple-developer-program-license-agreement/ “ If You make any changes to an Application (including to any functionality made available through use of the In-App Purchase API) after submission to Apple, You must resubmit the Application to Apple. Similarly all bug fixes, updates, upgrades, modifications, enhancements, supplements to, revisions, new releases and new versions of Your Application must be submitted to Apple for review in order for them to be considered for distribution via the App Store or Custom App Distribution, except as otherwise permitted by Apple.”
