Interesting news, but with a junk headline. Their idea is a little thermoelectric generator - which gets inserted into a car's exhaust system:<p>> In simulations mimicking high-speed environments, the waste-heat system
demonstrated great versatility; their system produced up to 56 W for car-like exhaust speeds ...<p>So - maybe it's a useful tweak, but certainly not a "fix".<p>(Yes, there's probably a lot more power, <i>in theory</i>, if you could tap the car's radiator heat. OTOH, their experimental setup had a temperature delta of 190 C. Radiators run far cooler, and the laws of thermodynamics are cruel to low-delta situations.)
