It's good that platforms take action to make themselves less harmful.<p>However, whilst it's "safer", Reddit stopped being a place of fun years ago.<p>It might be incompatible to have ingroup-safe friendly places and encourage actual fun and humour. There's certainly a conflict.<p>It used to be where memes were made and refined. Instagram and tiktok have that now.<p>Worth stating the obvious but Reddit is not at all safe for work nor safe for children, it's not family friendly and is likely to harm ones mental health. Most normal non users view it as tumblr: "oh that's that porn site isn't it?".<p>It does remain a sometimes useful resource for some tech discussions and hobbies. Sections which were never political nor humourous.
