I suspect there’s going to be a lot of be careful what you wish for in the next ten years.<p>As I understand it, a lot of the problems in New York and California have to do with the writing of NIMBYISM in law as described by Ezra Klein.<p>But there’s no way most of the people in Texas and Florida want all of these coastal elites moving to their state, particularly not if there liberal?<p>Are Conservative politicians really that confident that their governing abilities are strong enough to handle the huge demographic changes in their states? Will urban centers grow, pushing out the sort of near urban rural folks to other states? Like Dallas is still Democrat run.<p>I live in Portland, and one thing I learned is that things change dramatically when you go from mostly having people who have to learn about why they want to live in your state moving in, to having a place that is advertised as a destination for all.
